Plymouth based Social Enterprise, Zebra Collective, asked us to give their website a total overhaul. We’ve worked with them for a number of years and they have always been open to new ideas when it comes to their brand. Their new site puts Zebra right up their with the big boys in world of Social Enterprise.

The new website for Pachawawas, the fab charity that we support, is now live. A lot of work went into this from both client and designer. Thanks, as always, to Mr David Abbott at Chesapeake who was totally invaluable with his interweb magic. Pachawawas also have a lovely shop online for rather funky Christmas pressies. Pachawawas does a fantastic job of transforming the lives of people living in poverty in South America.

Modern jazz legend, Mike Garrick, has died aged 78. A creative genius and passionate pianist / composer, Mike was described by jazz writer Steve Voce as “the British Duke Ellington”. Gone but not forgotten, as his work is on practically every blu inc playlist.

There are some gigs you end up going to that you thank the good lord you didn’t miss. The Charles Hazlewood All Stars playing Tubular Bells (and other minimalist classics such as Terry Riley’s Rainbow in Curved Air) at St George’s Bristol was one of those evenings. It was incredible – my mate cried; my misses went into some kind of meditative trance and came up with concepts for her next print project, and I just had to keep scraping my jaw off the balcony floor. It was especially nice to her The Exorcist intro soundtrack as a live piece; there was even a layer of mist and lamp lights shining to get you in the mood when you entered St George’s grounds. Hazlewood was charming and engaging and set the music into a picture that mere mortals could just about get there heads around. The musicians were on fire and the crowd stood on their Guardian reading, beard stroking feet for a good five minutes clapping like a bunch of over excited teenagers (that includes me). St George’s rocks on many levels – big love to the George’s posse and Bristol in general. Nice.

Sophie Windsor Clive and Liberty Smith capture this beautiful chance encounter with one of natures greatest and most fleeting phenomena. The girls’ reaction at the end is priceless.

It’s just lovely when the Brits do it right. Third Star is a piece that just looks, feels, tastes and smells wonderful. It’s big and open and any other adjective that sounds arty. Brilliant viewing.

Nice piece of Saul Bass-inspired film by Devilfish. It’s to promote the new BBC Radio 4 dramatisation, with David Tennant and Kenneth Branagh, based on Vasily Grossman’s novel Life and Fate.
